Your trip in a nutshell
Itinerary
Day - 1
Arrival in Leh
Arrive at Leh Airport and transfer to your hotel. Take it easy today — rest, hydrate, and let your body acclimatise to the high altitude. In the evening, visit the serene Shanti Stupa for panoramic views over the city, explore the centuries-old Leh Palace, and take a leisurely stroll through the bustling local market
Day - 2
Sacred Monasteries of the Manali Highway
After breakfast, drive along the Leh–Manali Highway to visit some of Ladakh's most iconic landmarks. The grand Hemis Monastery — Ladakh's largest — the dramatically tiered Thiksey Monastery rising like a fortress above the valley floor, and the ancient Shey Palace all await. Also stop at the famous Rancho School, made iconic by the beloved Bollywood film 3 Idiots
Day - 3
Highways, History & the Magnetic Hill
Explore the Leh–Srinagar Highway and visit the Hall of Fame — a deeply moving tribute to the Indian Army's sacrifices across multiple wars. Pay respects at Gurudwara Patthar Sahib, built to honour Guru Nanak Dev's visit to this sacred region, and the Kali Mata Temple at Spituk Monastery. Experience the mysterious Magnetic Hill where vehicles appear to defy gravity, and take in the breathtaking confluence of the Indus and Zanskar rivers at Sangam.
Day - 4
Over Khardung La into Nubra Valley
Cross the mighty Khardung La at 17,582 ft — one of the highest motorable passes on earth — with endless snow-capped peaks stretching in every direction. Descend into the warm, lush Nubra Valley, where golden sand dunes, Bactrian camels, and the swift Shyok River create a landscape unlike anything else in Ladakh. Spend the afternoon on a camel ride across the dunes or an exhilarating ATV adventure.
Day - 5
Nubra to Pangong Tso
A long but magnificent drive through remote Himalayan terrain via the Shyok Valley brings you to Pangong Tso — one of the most breathtaking lakes in the world. Sitting at 14,000 ft, this vast brackish lake shimmers in impossible shades of blue and turquoise, stretching 134 km across the India–China border. Walk along its peaceful shores, spot migratory birds, and spend the evening in quiet awe as the mountains reflect in the still water
Day - 6
Pangong to Leh via Changla Pass
After a final sunrise over the lake, drive back to Leh over the high-altitude Changla Pass — pause at the summit for a warming cup of tea and sweeping Himalayan views. Return to Leh and spend the evening at leisure, soaking in the warmth of this extraordinary mountain town one last time
Day - 7
Departure
After a final breakfast, transfer to Kushok Bakula Airport for your onward flight — leaving Ladakh behind, but carrying its mountains, monasteries, and that impossibly blue lake with you wherever you go
