Day - 1
Shimla – Ascent to the Former Summer Capital
Arrive at Delhi Airport and embark on a scenic drive to Shimla, the illustrious "Queen of Hills." As you ascend from the plains, witness the landscape transform into pine-scented hills and fragrant cedar forests. Shimla, once the summer capital of British India, greets you with its colonial architecture and crisp mountain air. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and spend the evening acclimatizing to the romantic mists and golden hillsides of this historic hill station.
Day - 2
Shimla – Himalayan Views & Colonial Heritage
Begin your day with an excursion to Kufri Valley, a haven for nature lovers offering panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan peaks. Proceed to Naldehra to admire its famous nine-hole golf course set against a skyline of towering conifers. In the afternoon, return to Shimla city to visit the Jakhu Temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman, perched on the highest peak for excellent city views. Conclude with a visit to the Viceregal Lodge, a Scottish Baronial architectural marvel that once served as the seat of British power, followed by a stroll on the iconic Ridge.
Day - 3
Manali – Journey via the Valley of Gods
Depart Shimla for a picturesque drive north towards Manali. The route takes you along the flowing Beas River and through the scenic Kullu Valley, known as the "Valley of Gods." Stop at a traditional Kullu shawl factory to witness local artisans crafting exquisite woolens. Continue your journey to Manali, a high-altitude resort town offering a blend of peace and adventure. Arrive by evening, check into your hotel, and relax amidst the alpine atmosphere.
Day - 4
Manali – Ancient Temples, Art & Hot Springs
Immerse yourself in Manali's culture, starting with the ancient Hadimba Devi Temple, a wooden pagoda-style shrine located in a cedar forest. Visit the Naggar Castle, a heritage site housing an impressive art gallery that delights history and art enthusiasts. Explore the serene Tibetan Monastery to admire its wall paintings and chortens. Later, head to Vashisht Village to experience its natural hot sulphur springs, believed to have curative properties. Adventurous spirits can opt for river rafting on the Beas River before enjoying the evening on Mall Road.
Day - 5
Manali – Rohtang Pass & Solang Valley Adventure
Start your day early for an excursion to Rohtang Pass (3978m), the dramatic gateway to the tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti. Marvel at the sweeping panoramas of glaciers, precipitous cliffs, and deep ravines from the crest. On your return journey, stop at the picturesque Solang Valley, a hub for adventure sports. Depending on the weather, you can indulge in paragliding or zorbing (at personal cost) or simply enjoy the lush green meadows before returning to your hotel for a farewell dinner.
Day - 6
Departure – Memories of the Himalayas
After a hearty breakfast, check out from your hotel. Commence your drive back to the airport or railway station for your onward connection. Bid farewell to the mountains as you depart with wonderful memories of pine-clad hills, rushing rivers, and the colonial charm of Himachal Pradesh.
