Your trip in a nutshell
Itinerary
Day - 1
Srinagar: Gardens of the Mughals
Your arrival at Sheikh Ul-Alam Airport marks the start of your Kashmiri experience. We transfer you directly to a traditional houseboat on the lake. After freshening up, we proceed to the terraced Mughal Gardens. Walk through Nishat Bagh (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar Bagh (Garden of Love), admiring the Zabarwan mountain backdrop and cascading fountains. We also visit the royal spring at Cheshma Shahi. The day ends with a dinner aboard your houseboat, surrounded by the emerald waters of Dal Lake.
Day - 2
Sonmarg: The Golden Meadow
Today involves a scenic day excursion to Sonmarg, located at 2,690 meters. The drive winds through the spectacular Sindh Valley, flanked by fir forests. Sonmarg is the gateway to Ladakh and several high-altitude treks. We visit the Thajiwas Glacier, where snow remains year-round, offering a stark contrast to the green meadows. In the late afternoon, we return to Srinagar. The evening is dedicated to a relaxing Shikara ride on Dal Lake, exploring the floating markets and intricate waterways.
Day - 3
Pahalgam: Saffron Fields & Valleys
We drive south to Pahalgam, the "Valley of Shepherds." The route is famous for the purple saffron fields of Pampore and sprawling apple orchards. Upon arrival near the banks of the Lidder River, check into your hotel. In the afternoon, you have the option to take a pony ride to Baisaran Valley (often called Mini Switzerland). This large, rolling meadow surrounded by thick pine forests offers a perfect vantage point for photographers and nature lovers alike.
Day - 4
Pahalgam: Cinematic Landscapes
Dedicate the day to Pahalgam's scenic tributaries. We visit Aru Valley, a pristine village that serves as a base camp for the Kolahoi Glacier trek. Next, we explore Betaab Valley, named after a Bollywood film, celebrated for its lush vegetation and crystal-clear streams. The surroundings are quiet and idyllic, perfect for leisure walks. Spend your evening exploring the local Mall Road before retiring for the night.
Day - 5
Gulmarg: Ascent to the Meadow of Flowers
We depart for Gulmarg, a premier hill station situated at 8,800 feet. Known for possessing the world's highest 18-hole golf course, Gulmarg transforms into a ski resort in winter. The landscape here feels distinct, often compared to a European village with its Victorian-style hotels and pine-fringed bowls. After checking in, spend the rest of the day walking the circular road or simply admiring the snow-capped peaks that seem just a stone's throw away.
Day - 6
Gulmarg: The Gondola Ride
Today is highlighted by the famous Gulmarg Gondola, one of Asia's highest cable cars. The ride takes you in two stages to Kongdoori and eventually to Apharwat Peak (13,780 ft), offering unparalleled views of the Himalayas. (Note: Online booking for the Gondola must be done well in advance). After descending, you may visit the fragrant valley of Khilanmarg. In the afternoon, we drive back to Srinagar city and check into your hotel for the final night.
Day - 7
Departure: Himalayan Farewells
After a relaxed morning in Srinagar, we ensure a timely transfer to the airport. You depart carrying memories of snow-clad glaciers, saffron fields, and the serene houseboats of the Kashmir Valley.
